Panama Cascada Geisha
Since 2007, Ed Quinn and Raul Franco Montezuma have developed their 10 acre smallholder farm just across from Hacienda La Esmeralda where Panama Geisha coffees originate. Enclosed by the Talamanca mountains, the farm is covered by a steady mist called bajareque brought by the Tropical Easterly trade winds from the Pacific. Our first Geisha offering comes from their Cascada microlot placed in an area of fertile soil where nearby trees grow various tropical fruits. Cascada refers to the Geisha microlot’s nearby waterfall, which nourishes the farm’s surrounding terroir.
The high elevation, volcanic soil, and tropical climate in Boquete provide the necessary conditions to cultivate one of the most sought after coffees in the world. Panama Geisha coffee beans are renowned for their floral aroma and delicate body as well as their characteristic notes of tropical fruit. Our light roast interpretation of Ed and Raul’s harvest features the characteristic tea-like body as well as notes of jasmine, citrus, and cocoa.
